Ames legislator says she’ll resign

An Ames Democrat plans to give up her seat in the Iowa House. Sixty-first district Representative Cecelia Burnette says she will resignlater this year so she can return to her home state of New England. Burnettesays she wants to be closer to her family. Burnette had been in the Housefor five years and there is one year left on her term. The governor has 30days to set a special election from the time he receives her resignationletter.
