Grassley likes social security bail out plan

One of Iowa’s republicans in Congress likes what democrat President BillClinton had to say Monday about Social Security. Senator Chuck Grassleyapplauds the plan to use the federal budget surplus to shore up SocialSecurity, Medicaid and to pay off the national debt by the year 2015.While President Clinton says the surplus estimate is one-TRILLION dollarsbigger than previously expected, Grassley says the figures make it clearthat Americans are being grossly over-taxed and deserve a break.Grassley says money spent by Iowans is turned over many more times in theeconomy that money that’s sent to Washington D-C for Congress to spend.Grassley says any “extra” money should not be spent on “bloated” federalprograms.
