Banks say they’re on targe for Y2K

Today is the deadline for all the nation’s banks to be prepared against anycomputer glitches that could accompany the arrival of the year 2-thousand. Ben Hildebrandt, spokesman for the Iowa Bankers Association, says Iowa banksare prepared for the new millennium. He says 97-percent of Iowa banks havethe top rating when it comes to being prepared.Many banks across the state are considering opening their doors on New Year’sDay to ease customer concerns.The year two-thousand is only 183 days away.
