One winning ticket in Powerball Drawing

July 1, 1999 By admin

Iowa Lottery officials still don’t know much about the person –or persons– who bought the winning ticket from last night’s Powerball drawing. Among the few known facts, the ticket was sold in Minnesota. Lottery spokesman Joe Hrdlicka (hurd’-lick-ah) says the jackpot reached 151-million dollars in brisk sales yesterday. Hrdlicka says there was -one- big winner in Iowa — someone who bought a ticket in Council Bluffs matched 5 numbers for 100-thousand dollars. Hrdlicka says yesterday’s jackpot was the 3rd-largest in Powerball history. He says two-point-three million dollars was taken in by the lottery yesterday alone with one-point-three million in sales just in Powerball.
