Fire destroys recycling plant

A recycling plant in the northeast Iowa town of Hopkinton was destroyed by fire early Sunday. Firefighters were on the scene for six hours, but the Bacon Recycling plantwas destroyed, along with an abandoned house nearby. Investigators say thefire may have started in the grinding room. The plant’s owners willshift workers to another recycling facility in Hopkinton.
