Orr denies comments about Hayden Fry illness

Former Iowa State University basketball coach Johnny Orr is denying that hetold a Quad City Times reporter that retired Iowa football coach Hayden Fryhas been treated for prostate cancer.This past Friday, Fry cancelled an appearance at golf outing in Dubuquewhich was hosted by coach Johnny Orr. The newspaper reported Orr said Fryhad cancelled because of the cancer. Orr says others at the banquetconfirmed he DID NOT say anything about Fry and cancer. Fry is in Chicago, where he will be honored at the Big Ten football coachesmeeting tonight. When asked yesterday afternoon at his hotel about thedetails of the published report, Fry replied that he felt fine.
