Sponsors needed for refugees

The Lutheran/Catholic Social Service Refugee Cooperative in Des Moines saysit has a big need for families to sponsor refugees. Spokesperson VenessaSmith says they are looking for families or single individuals to helprefugess.Smith says you would start your sponsorship by picking the refugee family upat the airport and provide transportation to various appointments.The cooperative provides the housing for the families. Smith says sponsorsare asked to help the refugees for four months.She says the flow of refugees is coming from all over the world.Smith says they prefer sponsor families to be within a one hundred mileradius of Des Moines.
