Economic development director says economy strong despite farm crisis

The Director of the Iowa Economic Development Department, David Lyons, saysthe state’s economy is holding its own despite the current crisis inagriculture.Lyons says the economy has felt the ag crisis.but says the state is in better shape to make it through this crisis than itwas in the 1980’s. He says the focus of the state’s economy makes it easierto get through troubled times as it’s more diversified.Lyons made his comments during a development meeting in Mason City.
