ISU prepared to announce large gift

The Iowa State University Foundation is preparing to announce a gift it sayscould be on par with the largest ever given an Iowa college or university.Foundation president Tom Mitchell says the gift could be in the 50-milliondollar range.Mitchell says they’re not ready to name the donor, but he says it will havea dramatic impact on the university.Mitchell says it’s not unheard of for universities to create new colleges tohandle such donations.The university says it will announce the gift September 9th.
