Cerro Gordo County considers body piercing law

Cerro Gordo County is considering an ordinance that’d make it the first inthe state to have a law regulating body piercing. County Health Departmentspokesman Tom Reichard says the proposal was drafted after many parentscomplained about their minor children being skewered.Besides the licensing and educational requirements, the ordinance would alsoforce building standards and certain bookkeeping practices. Reichard saysbody piercing is here to stay and isn’t something new.Two of the three body piercing establishments in Cerro Gordo County would beexpected to pass the requirements — the third would likely have to close.
