A movie debuts nationally today about a man who decided to ride his lawnmower 240-miles across Iowa into Wisconsin to visit his sick brother. “TheStraight Story” is based on the real-life journey taken by Alvin Straightand it is what one state official calls a “feel-good” movie.Wendell Jarvis is director of the Iowa Film Office says it’s been a longwhile since theatre audiences nationwide have been able to see the HawkeyeState so beautifully depicted.Jarvis says the story is based on a real-life, six-week-long trek made by the73-year-old man.The film debuted this past Sunday in the northwestern Iowa town ofPocahontas.
