Thirty-two World War Two veterans from Waterloo will receive their high school diplomas in a Veteran’s Day ceremony Thursday in Waterloo. Waterloo Mayor John Roof says the men left school early to defend their country. Waterloo Schools Superintendant Arliss Schwartzendruber was just a kid too young to fight when the war broke out.The ceremony will be held Thursday at Waterloo West High School.
