Panthers left out of football playoffs

Despite an eight-and-three record, the Northern Iowa Panthers were left out of the division one-double-A playoffs for the third-straight year. U-N-I coach Mike Dunbar says its extremely disappointing.Dunbar says he’s more disappointed than he was last year as he says this is a very good team.Dunbar says there were several likely reasons for the decision, such as their third place finish in the league race.The Panthers had a three-and-three conference record this year. Dunbar feels especially bad for the team’s 18 seniors.U-N-I won handily Saturday night, beating division two opponent Southwest State of Minnesota, 55 to 14.
