Instructor teaches snow removal via the internet

A University of Iowa professor is teaching snow and ice removal techniques in an unusual way. Civil engineering professor Wilfred Nixon uses the Internet to teach students across the nation about highway maintenance. Professor Nixon says the Internet broadens his ability to teach.Nixon’s teaching centers on the technology used to maintain roads in the winter, such as temperature sensors embedded in roadways. Professor Nixon says the students are teaching him just as much as he teaches them.
