House speaker gets a call from Ted Nugent on dove hunting

January 19, 2000 By admin

Hard rocker Ted Nugent lobbied the Speaker of the Iowa House yesterday on a small but controversial issue. Nugent called House Speaker Brent Siegrist yesterday to urge him to support legislation which would create a dove hunting season in Iowa. Nugent told Siegriest that hunting is an all-american activity.Siegrist says Nugent, whose body of music includes such hits as “Cat Scratch Fever” and “Weekend Warriors,” may come a huntin’ in Iowa if the law is passed. Siegrist says Nugent offered to bring some recipes for dove, too.
