ISU, Iowa and UNI all face big basketball games

Iowa State hosts Kansas in a matchup of teams with 5-1 Big-12 marks. Cyclone coach Larry Eustachy says it is too early to be called a must win.The game will be a homecoming of sorts for Jayhawk freshmen Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich. Kansas coach Roy Williams says while both have made progress the freshman year adjustment continues.The Iowa Hawkeyes take a 2-5 Big Ten record on the road to Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes are coming off Wednesday’s loss to Illinois in which another errant Jacob Jaacks elbow played a factor in a late Illini run. Iowa coach Steve Alford says his team needs to stop making silly mistakes.Alford says Wisconsin will be a tough game.Northern Iowa is at Illinois State and Panther coach Sam Weaver says it will be a difficult challenge.Weaver says the Redbirds have one of the league’s top players in Tarise Bryson.
