Driver’s license could come with a "money-back guarantee"

March 22, 2000 By admin

A test project is being launched to make one state agency more “consumer friendly.” A proposal making its way through the legislature would reduce or eliminate fees for Iowans who get poor service at two of the state’s drivers license stations. Representative Chuck Gipp says the Governor suggested it as sort of a “money-back guarantee.”Gipp is willing to give the Governor his pet project, but Gipp says in his opinion, state agencies are pretty “user-friendly” already. He says most departments attempt to provide the best service possible without the “money-back guarantee.”The plan, which is incorporated in the D-O-T’s budget, was approved by the Iowa House yesterday and must be approved by the Senate, too.
