Coe softball team off to an 8-0 record

April 17, 2000 By admin

The Coe College softball team has the early lead in the Iowa Conference race. Coe is 8-0 in league play and leads Simpson by a half game in the standings heading into Wednesday’s doubleheader at Central. Senior pitcher Paige Stamp says while they have played well to this point, a similar pace will be needed to eventually win the league crown.Stamp says while they made a good run last year they feel confident a championship is within reach this time around.Senior shortstop Alison Rohdy leads a line-up that has given the pitchers plenty of runs to work with. She feels the line-up has hitters all the way through and that’s led to the success in getting key hits.Rohdy says the difference will be execution when a game is on the line.
