Congressman lauds "Tax Freedom Day"

May 4, 2000 By admin

This is considered a “very special day” by Congressman Tom Latham, as it’s the day -after- so-called Tax Freedom Day. The Alexander republican says yesterday was the break-even day where Americans had worked enough to pay all of their local, state and federal taxes. Latham says the freedom day has gotten later and later in the year and he’s worked to try and change that.Latham says money we earn from today through the rest of the year we can theoretically keep for ourselves.
