"Love Bug" computer virus mutates..again

May 19, 2000 By admin

Attorney General Janet Reno says a computer virus more damaging than the the recent “Love Bug” virus is on the loose. The “dot-v-b-s” virus is a “worm” virus like the love bug, but it changes each time it’s retransmitted, making it harder to identify. Steve Witters is with a computer firm in Clarion. He says this latest virus can do a lot of damage if you open it up. Witters says there are a couple of websites where you can get free help in combating computer viruses. Security experts are urging computer users to automatically delete any e-mails with a v-b-s attachment to avoid opening the latest virus.
