Few details released in Des Moines murder

June 7, 2000 By admin

Des Moines police are releasing little information about the murdered girl whose body was found Tuesday afternoon. An anonymous phone caller reported spotting the body in the Des Moines River on the capitol city’s north side. Police have not released the victim’s name nor how she was killed but do say she was black, 13 years old and from Des Moines. The body was found near the spot where another murder victim’s body was discovered in 1990. That murder case involved another black female victim — 24-year-old Pamela Carter — and it is still unsolved. Police won’t say if the two might be related.
