Governor continues walking, talking

June 21, 2000 By admin

Governor Tom Vilsack’s walking tour took him through Boone in central Iowa Tuesday. During a question and answer session with the public, Vilsack was critical of those who say nothing will come of a state planning council’s recommendations for the future. He says articles in newspapers that suggest he won’t take the recommendations seriously are wrong.Vilsack said he’s looking at recommendations now to improve education in the state. And Vilsack says improving technology is another recommendation his administration is working on. Vilsack gave up walking for awhile after his visit to Boone to drive to Mason City to continue the tour across Iowa.
