July 10, 2000 By admin

The Iowa Barnstormers won their second straight Central Division title Saturday with an easy 52-19 win over Grand Rapids. The Barnstormers held the Rampage scoreless until 46 seconds remained in the first half. Coach John Gregory says his team came out ready to take the division title. He says you could see the intensity in the lockeroom before the game.Gregory says the victory is big for several reasons, it gives them a bye and at least one game at home in the playoffs. He says the division title also sends a message that this team is putting it all together after losing three out of their first four ballgames.Aaron Garcia threw six touchdown passes in the game, two to Mike Horacek. Iowa is now 8-4 on the season.
