John Deere changes logo to jump up

July 19, 2000 By admin

Quad Cities-based John Deere is changing the trademark logo that’s adorned tractors, combines and mowers for the past 32 years. Deere spokesman Ken Golden says the new logo has a fresh look. The new logo features a deer leaping upward with its front legs in the air, while the old logo has a deer landing on its front legs. Golden says the new logo makes a statement about the company.John Deere is one of Iowa’s largest employers and is the world’s leading producer of agricultural equipment and is a top maker of equipment for construction, forestry, and lawn and garden care. Golden says the new logo will be gradually phased in over two years.Golden says they weren’t worried about changing one of the most recognizable logos in the world. This is only the eighth change in the Deere logo since the company was founded in 1837.
