Iowa’s private institutions of higher learning are showing off this week. Today begins the second annual “Private College Week” in Iowa. Kathleen Gannon of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities says all 29 private colleges are holding tours and information sessions this week.Gannon says they’re issuing special “passports” again this year that can save you money. If you visit three private colleges and get your passport stamped — you can get your application fee waived at as many of the colleges as you want. Gannon says many people think private colleges are too expensive. But, she says there’s plenty of financial aid available.
