Eatern Iowa students to appear on South Korean show

August 10, 2000 By admin

A group of students from the Northeast Iowa Tae Kwon Do Organization will appear on a South Korean news program. A film crew from the show is in Edgewood today filming a segment for the show. The instructor for the Tae Kwan Do Organization, Bob McDowel, says they’re filming for a 20-minute segment that shows how Tae Kwon Do is used in America’s Heartland. McDowel says it’s ironic in that Tae Kwon Do was created in South Korea. He says the mentor of their program is responsible for getting Edgewood on the South Korean show. The South Korean show is similar to newsmagazine programs shown in the United States.
