Attorney General to join Gore’s boat tour

August 18, 2000 By admin

Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller left L-A today, ultimately headed for Dubuque on Saturday to meet up with the “Al Gore for President” boat tour on the Mississippi. Miller knows Gore’s running mate, Joe Lieberman, as Lieberman was Connecticut’s Attorney General from 1983 ’til 1987. Lieberman was chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council. Miller and Lieberman worked together in a successful case against the major oil companies for over-charging consumers.Miller considers Lieberman a friend, that he calls a great guy.Back in 1986, Lieberman helped Miller out during a trip to Washington, D.C.Miller’s luggage was lost, so Lieberman loaned Miller a coat and tie so he could go to the State Dinner they’d been invited to at the White House.
