Iowan wins big on "Price is Right"

The price she guessed wasn’t right, but it was close enough to win “The Price is Right.” A northeast Iowa woman will be on the nationally televised game show next month. Phyllis Schoonover was a contestant on the program taped earlier this month.Schoonover, of Fredricksburg, was in California for a friend’s 50th wedding anniversary. The friend got Schoonover and several others tickets to see the game show — and she got picked as a contestant. Schoonover says she was a bit stumped when it came to the Showcase Showdown. She bid 22-thousand and her bid was three thousand dollars low, but the other contestant bid too high and was disqualified. She’s collecting a nice package.that includes an expensive dress, three appliances and a new minivan. The episode will air November 22nd.
