October 25, 2000 By admin

Waterloo police have arrested an area man after he allegedly sexually assaulted a sheep at the Hawkeye Community College Farm. Sergeant Ann Meyer of the Waterloo police Department says students at the college caught the man after hearing a noise in the building.Meyer says the 46-year old Broderson was naked when students caught him in the hayloft of the building and a ewe was tied up nearby.Meyer says a blue nightgown was found by the ewe. She says Broderson has been charged with criminal trespass and animal abuse. She say the farm manager inspected the animal and determined it had been assaulted. She says she can’t ever recall a case like this in her 23 years on the job.Meyer says Broderson has a past criminal record, although she wasn’t sure what that involved. She says there’s a possibility he could face a parole violation. Broderson is being held on a 75-thousand dollar bond at the Black Hawk County jail.
