The United States and Japan have reached an agreement that will allow the Department of Agriculture to test grain shipments to Japan for “StarLink” corn. The U-S-D-A plans to begin testing for the genetically modified corn around November 15th. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says this is a good step for the U-S to help world trade.”StarLink” corn has been approved for animal feed, but not for human consumption. Grassley says this is a positive step for improving the “StarLink” situation.Grassley says it’s important to keep U-S grain flowing to other countries.Grassley says Japan is a key trade partner for Iowa grain exports.
