Two eastern Iowa college students are in trouble with the law for shooting an endangered bird. Two 20-year-old men who attend Cornell College in Mount Vernon are charged with shooting a trumpeter swam at a Jones County conservation area. Hunters turned the two in, and they could be fined to cover the costs of treating the ailing bird if it’s unable to return to the wild.
