Iowa’s busiest airport is even more hectic today after a computer system failed at one of the major air carriers. The outage for Northwest Airlines and its Iowa affiliate, Mesaba Airlines, is causing trouble all around the Midwest.Michael Audino is a spokesman for the Des Moines International Airport. He says the cancellation and delay of flights by Northwest at its main hubs in Detroit, Minneapolis and Memphis is causing a back up in Iowa. Audino says this is already one of the busiest weeks for air travel. He recommends passengers phone ahead to make sure their flights are still on time, and they should leave for the airport early.
