The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has launched a program designed to serve as a clearinghouse of sorts for volunteers. Diane Ford-Shivvers is the coordinator for the “Keepers of the Land” volunteer program.She says the program is designed to give people a place to find volunteer opportunities throughout the D-N-R. Ford-Shivvers says the program will volunteers find opportunities in the area where they live.She says this program should let them get the maximum benefit out of available volunteers.Ford-Shivvers says you can contact them in several ways.You can e-mail them at [email protected] or visit their website at www.state.ia.us/dnr.
