Drake sophomore center Carla Bennett has been named the Missouri Valley Conference player of the week. Bennett led the Bulldogs to a pair of road wins last week, including a 19-point 16-rebound effort in an overtime win at Northern Iowa. Drake coach Lisa Stone says Bennett has bounced back from a pre-season ankle injury.
