Senate President may run for Governor

Another republican’s mulling a bid for Governor. Senate President Mary Kramer of West Des Moines says it’s both appealing and daunting. She says she’s flattered by the number of people who’ve told her she could do the job. Kramer says she hasn’t closed any doors, nor has she opened any.Kramer, who is 65, recently retired from her job as V-P at Wellmark/Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Kramer says she’s done everything from playing piano in nightclubs to being an executive of a major company.Yesterday, House Speaker Brent Siegrist, a republican from Council Bluffs, announced he had decided against running for Governor.
