A group of approximately 100 Iowa National Guard infantry soldiers return to Iowa today after security duty in the Persian Gulf. The soldiers from various northeast Iowa companies will be welcomed home in a ceremony at the guard armory in Dubuque. Iowa Guard spokesman, Colonel Robert King, says they’ve been going through processing at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.King says the ceremony is open to the public.The soldiers come from companies in Waterloo, Charles City, Dubuque, Oelwein, Hampton and Iowa Falls. The ceremony in Dubuque is at 11 a-m. Local ceremonies will also be held in Oelwein, Iowa Falls and Waterloo at the guard armories.
