Culture march scheduled for today

February 22, 2001 By admin

Hundreds of artists, musicians and historians are expected to march to the Statehouse today. Department of Cultural Affairs Director Anita Walker says the theme of the march is “Culture Works in Iowa.” She invites anyone interested in culture to join them at the Statehouse. Walker says the “Imagine Iowa Program” will paint a cultural picture of what Iowa will look like in the year 2010. Forums will be held throughout the state. Walker says there’s culture everywhere in Iowa. Marchers will gather at the State Historical Building and then march east to the Capitol at 9:45 this morning.
