Iowa Democrats are criticizing the tax cut President Bush will outline tonight in a speech. Iowa Democrat Party chair Sheila McGuire Riggs saysthe tax cut plan is “Reaganesque.” She says the mistakes of the 1980s left the country with a mountain of debt. McGuire Riggs says the tax cut is a gamble with America’s economic future.Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson says the Bush tax cut is skewed to the wealthy.Pederson says a middle-income family will get a tax cut worth a dollar a day, but families in the top one percent of earners will get a tax cut worth a hundred dollars a day.Pederson and McGuire Riggs made their comments this morning during a news conference at the statehouse.
