Democrat Governor Tom Vilsack is essentially ruling out two-thirds of the cuts Republicans propose in this year’s budget. Vilsack doesn’t want to pare 21-million from the state universities, community colleges, public safety or human services. Vilsack says the cuts create more problems than they solve.Vilsack is reviewing the roughly four million dollars in cuts he says remain. Vilsack says G-O-P calculations are off, and their plan does not cut 40-million, but much less than that. Vilsack and Republican legislative leaders will meet Monday to talk about the budget situation.
