MidAmerican lowers natural gas price

March 9, 2001 By admin

Iowa’s largest utility has slightly -lowered- the price it charges for natural gas, effective in March bills. MidAmerican Energy spokesman Kevin Waetke says it should mean this month’s bills will drop about ten dollars for the average Iowa customer. The price per therm of natural gas was cut from 79-cents to 76-cents. Waetke says in March of last year, the cost was 39-cents per therm.Spring arrives, at least on the calendar, in 11 days. Another small plus, state sales taxes aren’t being charged on the February or March utility bills.
