The Iowa Attorney General has filed charges against Crawford County Treasurer Alan Hansohn.Hansohn is charged with falsifying public records by allegedly making untrue entries on long distance call sheets kept by his office. He’s also accused of using public funds by deception. The charges stem from 650 dollars worth of telephone calls Hansohn made to dating services on his county account. Hansohn has admitted to making the calls and has paid the county back. He has also paid 12-hundred dollars in restitution for time spent on the phone while he was supposed to be working. Hansohn could face seven years in prison if convicted. Crawford County Supervisors agreed not to fire Hansohn after said he would pay restitution and write a letter of apology to Crawford County residents. Hansohn faces seven years in prison if convicted of the charges brought by the Attorney General.
