The Iowa State women are on to the “Sweet 16”. The Cyclones shot 55-percent in the second half and canned 12-three pointers in the game to down Florida State 85-70 in the second round of the Midwest regional in Ames.Cyclone coach Bill Fennelly says it’s amazing to be in the “Sweet 16” for the third straight year. Angie Welle had 26-points and 13-rebounds while Megan Taylor added 22-points including five three pointers as the Cyclones took command down the stretch. Taylor says F-S-U had a tougher first round game and may’ve gotten tired down the stretch.Welle overcame a sluggish start and finished 11 of 19 from the field. She says she was worried about their shot blockers early, then settled down.
