Iowa women bow out of NCAA tourney

March 20, 2001 By admin

Cold shooting plagued the Iowa women who dropped a 78-69 decision at Utah last night in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regional. Foul trouble was also a factor as Hawkeye senior Randi Peterson picked up three first half fouls as the Utes built an 11-point lead at the break and would build the lead to as many as 16. The closest Iowa got in the second half was six with just over a minute to go as the Hawkeyes end their season 21-10.
