Grinnell off to good start on the diamond

March 26, 2001 By admin

The Grinnell College baseball team is off to one of its best starts ever. Grinnell has been on a Florida “spring break” tour, playing mostly division three and N-A-I-A schools. Last Thursday, the Pioneers won two games over Western Connecticut by 10-to-six and 11-to-nothing. Grinnell also scored 18 runs against the State University of New York. The team’s only losses came in shutouts. Grinnell coach Tim Hollibaugh says his team’s been disciplined at the plate. Hollibaugh says his team has enjoyed the Florida trip and playing better teams.
