Vandy’s not so dandy for ISU women

March 26, 2001 By admin

The Iowa State women saw their season come to an end Saturday night in Denver with an 84-65 loss to Vanderbilt in the semifinal round of the midwest regional. Cyclone coach Bill Fennelly says it is always difficult to see the season come to an end and say goodbye to the seniors. He says he will never forget what the four did for ISU’s team, leading it to four winning seasons, and three “Sweet Sixteen” appearances.Fennelly says his team has nothing to be ashamed of as they won far more games than they lost.Center Chantelle Anderson had 34-points for Vandy while Cyclone center Angie Welle had 20-points but spent much of the game in foul trouble.
