Top distance runner to visit Drake Relays

One of the country’s top distance runners will compete at the Drake Relays later this month. Abdi Abdirahman will compete in the men’s special five thousand meter race at the Relays’ first-ever Thursday session. Relays director Mark Kostek says having Abdirahman run gives the distance events some credibility.Abdirahman finished 10th in the ten thousand meters at last year’s Summer Olympics in Australia. Kostek says at 22, Abdirahman has a bright future.Kostek says the Drake Relays are a good early test for world class competitors.The Drake Relays are April 26th through the 28th.
