Murder trial starts in Wappello

A suspected killer goes on trial this morning in southeast Iowa. Opening arguments were slated to begin at nine this morning in the Wapello County murder trial of 32-year-old Kenny Christopher Hemm who is accused of killing 53-year-old Larry Pippenger. Pippenger’s dismembered body was found in a burning car in April of 2000. The two men were acquaintances. Pippenger was wheel chair bound.
