Hawkeye Community College names new president

April 25, 2001 By admin

After two years, Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo finally has a new president. The college’s board of trustees has appointed Dr. Betsey Barhorst as the school’s fifth president. Barhorst will replace Bill Hersteen who resigned two years ago. Trustee Mark Birdnow says it was not an easy decision because there were three candidates. Ultimately, they felt Barhorst was the most qualified for the position. Barhorst will begin her new job July 15th.
