President Bush visits Iowa later today. The President lands in Des Moines at mid-day, then speaks publicly late this afternoon in Nevada, where he’ll visit the Iowa Energy Center. The Center converts “biomass” — things like tree waste and switchgrass — into fuels and chemicals. Bush is visiting Minnesota and Iowa to stress his new energy proposals. Democrats from D-C have been calling the Radio Iowa newsroom all week to criticize Bush’s energy plan. During a telephone interview with Iowa reporters yesterday, Senator Tom Harkin said Bush’s plan will move the country back into the 19th century because it focus too heavily on old-style energy sources like oil and coal.
