Perry infant dies from heat

June 27, 2001 By admin

An autopsy shows the infant found dead in Perry yesterday died of hyperthermia, or elevated body temperature. Eight-month-old Claire Terese Engholm was found dead in a mini-van yesterday outside a day care center. She’s the daughter of Dennis and Kari Engholm. Cops got a 9-1-1 call about the child at about 5:40 last night. The baby’s brother is enrolled in the day care, but she was not. The infant’s mother is the administrator of the Dallas County hospital which runs that day care. Perry police will say little about the case, but do say the day care center was not involved in the infant’s death.
